I just checked the soles and they are white.For sure a cockerel, as for breed I think he's a Jersey Giant.
What is the color of the soles of his feet? From what I can tell they look white.

It's actually the Australorps who have white soles, and the Jersey Giants have yellow, I got them mixed up.![]()

although, I had one that seriously looked like a slow developing roo. The comb and wattles, were big very red, but she is definitely a hen and was one of the runty ones. We actually named her Peewee. She is now one of the more dominant hens but she had us guessing for a week or 2. It turns out that she was just growing in to her comb. LOLI agree he is a cockerel.
At 8 weeks old, you can't go by rounded vs pointed feathers, as all chicks have rounded feathers at that age.
The pointed feathers in cockerels come in around 10 to 12 weeks.
The giveaway is the big, red comb and wattles.
