This is true, I have some barnyard mix chicks that I hatched about seven weeks ago. Just a few days ago I noticed that a couple of them had developed beards. I know who the daddy is, now!

I completley forgot about brown red..........Does it have a pea comb?

I would say your chick is not pure ameraucana, as someone who was sold an "ameraucana" before that is definitely an EE (maybe). EE's tend to be flighty and shy and ameraucanas are sweeter birds, I still want one. Also pure bred Ameraucanas are sold at a more premium price (around here anyway).

A few more pictures I took today. Definately has a pea comb. Feet are dark grey on the bottoms, how does make a difference in knowing what kind of chicken? No feathers on feet.
