hi! i was wondering what breed or gender sir pecksalot is. im assuming that hes a boy and hes a coppar maran, but im not sure.

hes two months and 1and a half weeks old

thats all cockerel there. hens of that breed do not get copper any wheres but on their hackles

its a roo but not a marans marans dont have yellow legs

i have hatched out some with yellow legs before just culled them along with any clean legged chicks

well i know hes a RIR mixed with NJG, but my neighbor said she thinks that that's what they mixed to get a coppar maran.

Nope, Marans are not a mixed breed. They are named after the region that their breed originated from in France, and have an old lineage. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, only a few lines here in the USA are considered 'True" Marans. Such as Bev Davis' lines.
