So I've hatched well over 70 chicks from my bantam longtail pens this year and I have gotten a broad range of chick colors but these two are the first I have ever had of this color. I was just wondering if any of you had chicks like these and what they turned out to be? Of course I could just wait but thats boring

And yes one is a silkie cross. I somehow end up with about one each year simply because I don't separate my pens quicker haha

Wow year of the rooster! They are quadruplets!

Haha. The one chick is all longtail, so I'm guessing they share one parent. They reminded me of some golden laced wyandotte chicks I saw but I don't see how I could have laced in my flock and not know it.

How did your chicks turn out Year of the Rooster?

Thanks peak poultry!

We gave them away at 2 weeks. This was our first hatch and we just did it as an experiment. From what I remember, their feathers were coming in with a partial lacing or a mix of gold/brown and black. But mommas taught them well and i'm sure they're doing fine

I had a Cochin with down like that and he ended up being black with buff on his feathers. You can see him second from the right in this pic, although he got more buff as he got older.
