In central PA we have pockets of Rattlers and Cooperheads which generally dispatched on sight. The Black Racer and Black Rat snakes are usually welcome though.Two summers ago, I had a Black Racer under my porch. I left it there to keep down the rodents. Unfortunately a lot of Milk Snakes and Northern Watersnakes get mistaken for Copperheads. I may have to reconsider my policy on the black snakes now that I have eggs for them to steal. Hopefully it won't be a problem though.
