surprise special from Ideal 7 week updated pictures

Has anyone else ordered the surprise special from Ideal? I know I'm going to need some help determining what chicks i get when they arrive. I thought if anyone else ordered, we might compare to see if we received similar breeds.

My order of chicks is to ship on 6/24.

did you get the all pullet special? how many did you order? the advertisement said the package includes at least 5 varieties.
I only ordered 11 chicks, so I'm not sure if I'll get 5 different breeds or not. I'm sure they'll throw in the "roos for warmth" and from what I've read on here, those are usually Rhode island reds. I tried to go through all the chickens they sell and see what ones are still available (not sold out for the year) and it was a pretty long list

barred rocks
dominiques
productions reds
RIR
polish
minorcas
black stars
easter eggers
gold stars
Leghorns
and production pullets.

I suppose its possible they may have extras from the "sold out" bunch, but I'm guessing the orders will be from these breeds.

they can be anything, I got the pullet pack from Meyer. wound up with 6 breeds. Kindof fun trying to determine what you got. They post sold out at a certain % of eggs that were set, so if hatch is good you can wind up with chicks of sold out breeds too.

i did, they gave the breeds on the box! thank goodness, and i got a good variety,
i got golden comets
black sexlinks
light brahmas
and silver laced wyandottes
i was happy with that.

when I spoke with them on the phone, they said they may or may not list what the breeds are. I have to say, I'm excited

I've raised chicks that I got from the local feed store, but I've never done mail order.

I'll post the pics as soon as they come

i got the st run special here

for me it doesnt matter what i get

i just hope it isnt what i already have thats all

but if they are thats fine also

if i get too many roos ill either give them away somewhere or trade them with a local guy here that has tons of roos of all breeds

i bought 25 for .99 each

cant go wrong at that price i think

i called them today to ad the gel i had forgotten to order and they said they were going out today

so we shall see

this is my first ideal order ive done

already have the setups here in home waiting for them..and while they grow ill be making 2 more pens here

one for the chicks and another one for my pure breeds here

I'd much prefer a barred rock roo over a RIR just because i have barred hens. I'm still kind of saving my rooster position for next year though. I'm hoping to get welsummers then and I'd like to have a welsummer roo.

I'm happy with what ever. I ordered the surprise because I wanted to get a few more chicks and I couldn't decide what i wanted other than breeds that aren't currently available from the hatcheries.
