Surprise, unexpected chick!

That's what I thought, but honestly for the price I can't complain. Also compared to my horrible first experience, this time I'm happy with the hatch! Even if they're not pure breed.
And this is why I so wish that these dishonest folks would just stop lying already. There are plenty of people who would still buy the eggs knowing they are Silkie mixes and be excited to see what they get. Instead, they alienate many buyers who expected purebred Silkies to hatch in spite of the relatively low price of the eggs.

I agree that it would definitely be better to indicate that they are cross breed. Some people may not be as accepting of them not being pure silkies.
I got the eggs originally in the hopes of getting a silkie coqueral as my current one does not mate, at all. I'm slightly disappointed they are not pure silkies for that reason. I just hope that my older chick is a male (he's definitely a silkie). If not, we are back to square one!

The yellow toe isn’t a sign of a mix. I’d say the blue/black ones are pure.

I'm still wondering if maybe it's possible? I guess I'll find out when they start feathering! If I'm not mistaken, I read that silkie crosses will (almost) always have smooth feathers because it's the dominant gene. Only doubt is the 4 toes on the two dark chicks :idunno

I believe F1 crosses would have smooth feathers and 5 toes. That supports my suggestion of crosses of crosses, not a fence-vaulting rooster.

Today Peanut (mother hen) gave up on her 6th egg, 2 days after the 5 other hatches. I candled and listened just in case, but suspected it was dead. I opened it up, carefully, starting at the air cell. Saw no movement and a huge yolk, so I pierced the membrane and took the chick out. Seeing how developped it was I suspect it died between days 15-17. It looked ALOT like the polish coloured chick and also had pink skin and the same beak, only difference was that it didn't have the yellow crest. So number 6 wasn't a pure silkie either. I'm guessing I got given 2 eggs from 3 different hens and 2 of them are definitely crosses! Such a shame it didn't make it, would have been so perfect having 2 of each. But happy with the 5 that did hatch, they are doing well with their first time mama so far!! Todays autopsy made me realise my first batch of eggs had no chance of survival, they were all deformed. Inbred I'm guessing, one did hatch but died at 3 weeks old (it wasn't growing).
