"I'm fine." Aki lied, his body hurt and his eye was swollen shut. The gash would probably scar, blinding that eye forever. He sighed, feeling the sun on his fur for the first time in months.

Mari sat next to him, soaking up the sun. She licked her mate, grooming his blood stained fur.
