Ladies and gentlemen, time to make it weird.

I candled eggs tonight. None were fertile. Too bad.

I hade an abundance of gamefowl hatching eggs and no open incubators or broody hens. Therefore, I gave he ganefowl eggs to the turkey hen. Let’s see what sort of mayhem ensues.

My turkeys hatch chickens. One likes to kill them as they hatch....the others love them all the same. One keeps the pullets with her until she goes broody the next year.

We’re getting torrential rains for the next several days. Last year, the rains wiped out this turkey hen’s wild hybrids as they hatched. We’ll have to see how the terrorfowl do. I may go check during a break in the rain.

She has 10. She left more in the shell that the fire ants got. I think I gave her too many eggs and it led to a staggered hatch. Next time I’ll give her no more than 21 or so.
