Sedna's eyes opened and she lifted Odio's head with a paw so that he looked her in the eyes. "I'm not going, Odio. You don't need to worry about that."
Odio looked at her, and he suppressed a sniffle. "You're sure?" he asked, a small tear escaping his eye, against his ability to stop.

Endigo nodded; "Ah, yes... Rod." he said, though he said Rod with a heavy accent of disgust. His "friend" was proving to be a lousy one, indeed. "Go ahead; I don't see why he can't give a last order. I'm coming along, mind you." he added, forcing a cheerful voice. "I'll summon him." he lifted his head to the heavens and gave a beckoning howl.

Within moments, Rod, whom had been hunting nearby, proved by his bloody muzzle and dead rabbit in his jaws, approached. He gave a curt nod and said, "What is it, Mystery?" though he cast a spiteful glare at Endigo.

Tarro backed away from Dixie, allowing Delano to do what Jargo had ordered him to, but he looked directly into Dixie's eyes, allowing her to realize that she was not pardoned by him.

Dixie, panting, now on her feet, realized that Tarro was just like Jargo: cold and unfeeling, basically soulless. She turned to face Delano and managed a weak snarl, which wasn't intimidating in the least.

Mystery's smile faltered at Endigo's hesitance, though he looked to Rod gratefully when the current Alpha approached. "My brother, Teal, would like to join Golden pack. He wanted to make a good impression, so he's waiting at the border for us," he explained.

Delano stepped slowly, threateningly toward Dixie, his gaze dark, his expression malicious. He paused when she snarled, looking as if he might laugh at the pathetic attempt at intimidating him. Instead, he just stood and stared, a smile slowly growing on his maw. He hesitated a moment longer, his gaze meeting Dixie's and holding there. And then he lunged, his jaws opening to bite onto his victim.

Quote: Jargo looked at Teal and nodded. "We should go, Cobalt. It looks like Delano has Dixie, so we're done here." he said. Tarro loped up, and stood silently, as if awaiting orders. He had changed from the pup he'd once been, so full of life, unafraid to love and be loved. He was now just a killing machine with a desire to do his father's evil will. Jargo acknowledged him with a nod and a reply; "Tarro, why don't you come along, huh?"

Tarro nodded, never speaking, and took his place beside his father, on the opposite side, so that he didn't infringe on Teal's space. He copied his father's movements without looking at him, clone like, and the two began to lope towards the border, not waiting for Teal.

Dixie, meanwhile, was beginning to pant. She remembered what she'd said to Mystery; she remembered thinking that she was on Teal's side... her thoughts whirled. In one last desperate attempt, she turned to run, despite the fact that her brain told her she couldn't outrun or overpower her massive opponent. Just as she tried to run, she felt his jaws close on her back left leg, and the sudden stop caused her to jerk to the ground, where she lay, helpless, doomed to be Delano's next victim.

(Oh, sorry!)
"Well, uh, my paw hurts a little but I think I can manage the pain. Thanks, though!" Kitty said truthfully.

((That's okay. :) ))

Sonya nodded in acknowledgement, looking to her father expectantly.

"Ya just keep off that paw an' it oughta be good as new by tomorrow," Swampson said to Kitty. Then, he looked to Sonya and motioned for her to follow. They had more training to do if Sonya was going to be a medical dog some day. The two headed out of the church den and off into the territory.

"Hey, I hate to ask you to do something for me, but would you mind picking up a bite to eat for me if possible? Thank ya!"

"Of course I am," Sedna whispered.

Teal followed, grinning. He couldn't wait to see the look on Mystery's face when his world came falling apart...

Delano dragged her back toward him, releasing his grip on her leg and looming over her with a devilish gleam in his eyes. His smile morphed into a grin, and that soon turned into a snarl. His teeth gleaming, he lunged, aiming for her throat.

Quote: (Teal's just a shell of a dog, filled with hate and the desire for revenge, in my opinion... but he's cool! I hope his role isn't ending here. It looks like it will... D:)

Jargo could make out... three forms before him: one was the Golden Alpha that he'd already fought with and lost nearly lost his life to, the other looked very much like Endigo, but scrawnier and thinner, and the third... his eyes widened in disbelief...

...the third was Endigo, himself! Horrified, but not allowing it to show, he marched on.

Tarro glanced over at his father, raising an eyebrow and giving him a suspicious look. He could sense fear, and knew his father had had bad relationships with a good part of these dogs. He wasn't worried, though. He was quite certain that he and his father were unbeatable.

((I guess we'll find out. ;) ))

Teal grinned as Mystery came into sight, keeping by Jargo's side and just waiting for them to be noticed. Mystery was looking around for him. Teal had to stop himself from laughing out loud. Mystery would be expecting just him--oh, what a surprise he was in for!

As Mystery's eyes fell on the three approaching dogs, he froze, staring in something like disbelief. Teal's grin grew in satisfaction. "Very good, Viridian. Thank you for bringing us the leaders of Golden pack," he said, taking delight in each word.

Mystery was speechless, standing there with his mouth hanging open. What had he done? He looked with fear and shock to Endigo and Rod. What had he done? "No, I..." he began, but his throat seemed to reject any further words, and he fell silent.
