Quote: "Taz, look," Ella said. She dropped the item she was carrying: it was a McDonald's box with a burger, half eaten, inside.

Taz looked at her with shining eyes. "Thanks, let's share!" he yipped, the morning sun shining brightly on his dark, long, brown fur.
Ella smiled and bit half the burger off. "Sure," she said, clearly famished.

Taz looked at her dreamily. Bending at his elbows, he knelt down, and gulped down whatever was left for him. He licked the taste from his whiskers, and gazed ahead at the gray, hard pavement. He was lost in the land of his thoughts: They swirled around him like mist, but he couldn't quite grasp any of them.
Ella smiled. "What're you looking about?" she asked shyly.

Quote: Dixie looked shocked by that sudden news. "Oh, that's... I would say it's too bad, but I have to be honest and say what I think... And I'm just plain glad we know for sure that he's dead." she said. "I do feel bad for Mystery, knowing that he lost his own brother, and I'm sure Teal might have been a good dog, but..." she trailed off, figuring Cerise probably hated her for saying that. Just then, Saffron emerged from the depths of the den like a nurse from an operating room, to give Cerise and Dixie the news. "I think he's gonna make it." she said softly, looking at them both and briefly dipping her head in respect to the Alpha.

Cerise didn't say a thing about Dixie's reaction, understanding it completely. She instead looked to Saffron as the medical dog appeared, nodding to her as she dipped her head in respect. She smiled with relief, exhaling slowly as if she had been holding her breath while waiting for the news. "Thank you, Saffron," she replied. She glanced at Dixie, and then added, "May we come in and see him?"

Kage padded through the maze of alleys with three dogs on his heels. The sun was rising, and birds sang their morning songs as they flew above their heads. Ashfire, Midnight, and Holly's deaths had been over a week ago, but their deaths were still fresh in Kage's mind. He felt burning rage as he pictured the face of Tawny; how she had murdered her own sister in cold blood, and Midnight's last words, before Tawny had heartlessly torn her throat. Every hair on Kage's pelt rose. That scum... My mate would still be alive, if it weren't for that scum called Tawny...! Kage forced himself to exhale. He needed to keep calm as he searched for recruits.

"Ugh, what a stink!" Onyx snarled as they passed by a rather rank-smelling set of garbage cans.

"Rotten fish," Mapleshade commented, going to her mate's side. "It'll pass soon."

The scents of the fast food restaurant they were going by wafted into Kage's nose, and he was tempted. His stomach growled with hunger, and he realized something: He hadn't eaten in days! Looking back at his companions, he noticed at they were interested in the tempting smells, too. "Let's stop and check the garbage," Kage suggested. Bunching his powerful hind legs, he hopped onto a dumpster, scrabbling frantically for a second before he managed to get his back legs on. Half of the dumpster was wide open, and Kage hopped down inside. As he heard scrabbling above his head, he knew that Onyx was trying to get inside, too. He sniffed out a paper cup of coffee filled to about a quarter, and he tasted it. "Yuck!" He exclaimed, spitting to get the taste off his tongue. Above, he could hear snickers of amusement coming from Onyx, Mapleshade, and Spirit. He gave them a -_- look, before sniffing deeper. He found a McDonald's bag with half eaten hashbrowns, bacon, and untouched sausage. Smirking in satisfaction, he grasped the top in his jaws and leaped out. "Breakfast is served," he announced, spilling the bag's contents onto the ground. His companions crowded around, eager to get their share. Kage's ears swiveled as he heard a sound behind him...

(Anyone wanna come in?)

Quote: Saffron shook her head. "He's asleep," she explained. "And I don't want to wake him," she added. That said, she turned to leave the two dogs. Dixie nodded understandingly, then turned to depart as well. She looked back at Cerise with a small smile and said, "Well, I'm going to be at me and Mystery's den." she said.

(Ooh, ooh, Cyan!!!)

Cyan walked up to a small group of dogs in the alley, a snarl on his maw. He glared at the dogs and lowered his head, baring his teeth as he did so. His cold blue eyes gazed scornfully at them and he did not speak as he advanced, silent and dangerous.

Cerise gave Dixie a nod to let her knbow she had heard her. Then, she headed up to her own den, though she stopped outside of it, her fur rising a bit. That Teal... Even now, knowing he was dead, she was still petrified at the thought of stepping into her den to find him there again... And so, instead, she turned and sat on the ledge overlooking the junkyard, sighing and looking down at the dogs as they went about their business.

((Time skip? I'll have to go get the hens in soon. It's rainy and dark, and it sounds like they're getting ready for bed already!))

(Yes, please... But where to?)

"Hmm? Oh yeah, memories," he replied quickly, shrugging off the feeling of being an outcast.
