Jargo had come to and crawled up to her. He knew he was dying; he had lost and it was over! "Harli..." he gasped.

Somewhere in Harli's subconscious mind, she heard Jargo's voice. Straining to open her eyes, they rested upon her mates face. "Jargo..." She whispered, smiling.

(Okay, I'ma cry, now...)

Jargo reached a paw out and smoothed the fur on her head. "I... uv... oo..." he gasped, his words distorted by the blood running through his mouth and leaking onto the ground. "I ink.... I'm ying..." he added in a raspy voice.
(D': Me too!)

Harli's eyes darkened, filled with sorrow. "No... my love...." she whined, trying desperately to get closer. "Please...." tears streamed from her dark, honey colored eyes, dripping to the hot ground. She reached out with her tongue and licked his cheek. She froze stiff though, when she heard happy, young voices.

"Oh Smoke, stop!" came a feminien voice.
"Your just being a baby!"
"I am not! You're just too fast!"
"Well then, hurry!"

Harli looked at Jargo, then summoned the last of her strength and uttered a low, helpless howl.

Jargo looked at her and his vision slowly, steadily began to fade into nothingness... But, suddenly, heavy footsteps sounded from behind him. He rolled around and his gaze rested on the form of his arch-enemy: Endigo. "My brother, you are hurt," Endigo said, his voice full of concern.

"Yeah... So? What do you care anyways?" Jargo snapped back, his body burning in pain. His vision finally went dark and the last thing he remembered was Endigo lifting him off the ground. Saved by his enemy... Great.

Quote: Raven and Jade whined in unison, but Dixie quickly ushered them away, telling them to straighten up the den and fix their nests. Turning back to Mystery, she replied with a smile, "Jiyaken can stay as long as he likes." Her maw bore a warm, welcoming smile and she clearly didn't mind the dog at all; he was clearly trustworthy.

Jiyaken smiled back, bowing his head gratefully. "Thank yeh both," he said, happy to feel so welcome.

Minty gasped. "Does that mean Jack'un is gonna tell us a bedtime story tonight?" she asked hopefully, bouncing at her parents' paws.

Mystery chuckled. "That's up to him," he replied, motioning for Minty to ask the big gray dog.

She turned around, but didn't even need to ask. "O' course I will, li'l lass," Jiyaken replied gladly.

Minty bounced around excitedly for a few moments. Then, she gave her siblings a sly look, and took a flying leap at them, having forgotten Jiyaken's words about playing too rough.

Raven skittered to the side, Jiyaken's warning about rough play seemingly nonexistent to her, now, and she yipped with pleasure as Jade took the brunt of Minty's attack. The bewildered pup squealed in terror and tried to get away from Minty. Meanwhile, Dixie just laughed and shook her head as she stood off to the side.

Minty roared out and playfully bit at Jade's paws, squealing in delight. Her tail whirling through the air, she finally released her brother, her sights set on her sister. "I'mma get YOU now!" she yipped, leaping for Raven.
