Quote: After a few minutes, Harli returned. A sheepish smile on her maw, and her nose a slightly pinker color. "Boy I was dumb." she snorted, sitting down.
(Harli is trouble! LOL!)

Jargo smiled. "You look better," he said.
(Heehee! She's so dumb! XD)

"I don't feel better." she joked, sticking out her tongue.
(XD I can't deny that! XD)

Jargo smiled and sat down. "Well, I think the danger is passed." he said.
(Haha!! LOL!)

Harli nodded, but somewhere in the back of her mind she knew that it wasn't over. "The pups are due any day now." she murmured quietly, looking out of the den.
Jargo smiled. "I can't wait," he murmured softly.
"I know." Harli smiled, looking back at him. She got up, walked towards him and rubbed her head under his chin. "Thanks. Thanks for helping me." she said quietly.
Jargo licked her ear. "Of course; you are my mate. I will always care for you... Always," he replied.
Harli smiled, the 'normal' feeling coming back to her body. "I love you." she then pulled away, rooting around in their nest. "Want to help? The pups will need something soft to sleep on." she smiled, pulling fur from the rabbit Jargo had killed that morning.
Jargo nodded. He gathered a few things together and mused under his breath as he did. "It's a pity we cant have separate rooms for our pups, so that they could have their own spaces every so often," he mused.
Harli heard him say something, but didn't quite make it out. She shrugged slightly, making a small indent in the fluffy nest. It was quite large now, as Harli had added more dry grass and fur to it the day before. She had also spread the picnic blankets over it to cover the pokey grass. "Looks good. What do you think?" she asked, stepping back.
Jargo smiled. "Anything you do looks good, Harli." Jargo said. "That's why we always have perfect pups."

Quote: Harli snorted, turning to face him. "Well thanks for the complement, but what you said after isn't true. I wish it was.." she murmured sadly, tears forming in her eyes. How she wished her son hadn't betrayed her, and she also wondered how her daughters were doing.

"It is, but things can be corrupt..." Jargo insisted, feeling bad. He knew that he had trained Tarro to be a merciless killer, but because the pup had grown up without his mom, he knew her not and therefore was very cold towards her.

Harli nodded somberly, a sorrowful glazed look coming into her eyes. She really did love her son, and she was scared for him. He was alpha of Jargoan pack (just realized it's still called that! Do you think he'll change it to Tarroan pack? Lol!), and if his future looked anything like his father's well, he had a rough life ahead of him.

Flag took his sister's tail in his mouth, pulling it hard. Paisley let out a squeal of pain, though she was laughing. "Stop Flag!" she cried, turning to nip at him. Flag snickered, leaping and tackling her. He had a strong affection for his little sister, and would always protect her with his life. He didn't feel this way about Daisy, though he did love her, but this feeling was strong for Paisley. Paisley growled, nipping at his wide chest. Flag licked her face, but as he did, pulled her ear. "Hey!" Paisley barked.

(No, he is keeping the name that way as a remembrance of his forebearer.)

A sudden howl from not too far away caused Jargo to race to the den entrance. There on the bluff that divided the Loners from the Jargoans stood a black and white dog, his red eyes blazing in the night. Mist swirled around his paws and the moonlight illuminated his coat. He howled again, the sound lonesome and melancholy.

Tarro gnashed his teeth together as he howled. He stood by the loner lands. "What is this monster I've become...? What have I become...? Who am I...?" he growled.

Jargo looked at Harli and his gaze clearly told her that she'd better not run to greet her son. "He is no longer our son; he will kill you!" he warned grimly. "I never meant for him to be this way," he mumbled sadly.

(Ah, okay.)

Harli's eyes grew enormous. Even though Jargo had warned her, she felt a strong desire to comfort her son. Even though it was obvious she could never do so. She nodded, heading to the back of the den. She was carrying pups, and if he did harm or kill her, the pups would suffer greatly.

Tarro's head swung around and he and Jargo held each other's gazes for a long moment, each one clearly unsure of the other. Finally, Tarro gave another mournful, haunting howl, and vanished over the bluff. He knew who he was, now! He was the Alpha of Jargoan Pack! Jargo followed Harli back into the den, his mind swimming with thoughts.

Harli looked at Jargo questioningly. "J-jargo... is he alright?" she wondered.

Melanie walked out, "Get off of your sister, Flag!" she barked, narrowing her eyes. She had changed. She wasn't the calm, gentle she-dog she was before Smoke left. Now she was cold, snappy and very unpleasant to be around. Flag did as he was told, sitting beside his sister. "Don't EVER do that again. Hear me?!" she snarled, glaring at him. "Yes momma." Flag said, his voice deep and understanding. Melanie stared at him for another second, before stalking off.
