Taj laughed. "That's the spirit!" he barked. And then he took a deep breath and disappeared beneath the surface again. He saw the school of fish--it was the same one because the fish with the tattered tail was still there. His eyes narrowed. He wasn't sure where Sylver had gone, but he knew he wanted that fish. He headed straight for it, his eyes locked on its tattered tail.
Sylver shot through the water, stopping beside a flowing clump of pond grass. She waited. Soon, a large koi shot passed, and Sylver lunged. Her jaws closed on the water, but she didn't care. Streamlining after the fish, she opened her jaws.

((How about Endigo? He could ask Swampson what happened over at the Jargoan pack...

(Okay.

I'll do that. Thanks!)

Taj swam faster and faster, his jaws slowly opening as the fish fell closer and closer back to him. His eyes narrowed, and then shut, and he put all he had left into one last burst forward. And his teeth closed on a fish. His fish! The fish? His eyes popped open. Nope. Taj grinned humorously, going cross-eyed to eye the fish he had caught. It was pathetically small, but it was something at least.

He looked around for Sylver, spotting her on the tail of a fish and moving in fast. He silently cheered her on, waving his paws around and wagging his tail through the water.

Endigo's sharp brown eyes searched the territories for sign of Swampson or Sonya. He stood tall atop his throne, and the wind ruffled his fur, tossing it this way and that.

Suddenly he raised his head, and barked joyfully. He saw Swampson on the horizon, padding away from Jargoan Pack border. He came barreling down the hill, runing as fast as he could, until he came to a halt in front of Swampson. "What happened? What did Jargo want?" he said.

The water churned beneath Sylver's strong strokes. She lunged out, and snapped her jaws around the fish. It was a fighter. It wriggled, almost getting out of her jaws! She shoved off the pond floor with her hind legs, and flung the fish on the bank. It flopped once, then lay still. Sylver tread water, gazing into the depths, looking for Taj.

Swampson looked up in alarm, though he resisted losing his temper with the Alpha. He took in a deep breath, thinking of how to explain. "His mate was havin' trouble pupping, Endigo, so I helped th' lass," he replied, holding his head up proudly as if expecting Endigo to be upset.

Taj barreled out of he water, landing gracefully in the shallows along the bank with his tiny fish in his mouth. He was clearly impressed, tossing his catch up onto the shore beside Sylver's and grinning. "Dude, that was awesome!" he exclaimed, climbing ashore. He shook himself out and smiled to Sylver. "I knew I was a great teacher, man," he said with a wink, then laughed out loud.

Endigo glared at Swampson. "You're... just pulling my leg, right?" he said, in disbelief. "Helping the enemy?! What would possibly posses you to help the enemy? Swampson, why? It's pack law to have you killed for doing that!" He shook his head, and his tail drooped. "Now my pack must see me as a weak Alpha because of you!"

He turned to face Swampson, and glared daggers at him.

Sylver jumped out, and shook, spraying water onto Taj. She laughed, and nosed his fish. "Nice catch." She teased.
