Sonya had dropped off a few plants Swampson had pointed out at the church den to keep on hand for an emergency. With that out of the way, she was on her way back to her father to continue their survey of the land. She approached the tree that he had been sitting by, looking around with a frown on her face. Where had he gone? And then she noticed the scent of unfamiliar dogs in the area.

Something was wrong! Something was very wrong!

Sonya turned to run back to the church den and report that her father was missing, unaware that someone would soon be after her, too...

((Eek, I knew it! Run, Sonya, run!

Jargo stalked behind her. If she reached the church den, he wouldn't be able to take her. He lunged, attempting to attack her with everything he had, with only one goal in mind. His growl trailed off as he sailed through the air.

Sonya was completely unaware that someone was behind her. She didn't hear Jargo leap, and his growl fell on deaf ears. It was only when Jargo collided with her that she realized she was under attack.

She tumbled forward with the force of Jargo's lunge, coming to a stop on her side in the grass. Woozy from the tumble, she shook her head and looked up. "Wh..?" she uttered, looking up toward Jargo. Her vision had blurred a bit. She couldn't tell who it was. Still feeling dizzy, she blinked to try and clear her vision. "Who's there?"

Jargo stalked forward, his head lowered, his red eyes glittering. This was the sort of thing he enjoyed, and the more helpless his victim, the more enjoyable his attack. He stopped just a tail-width's away from Sonya and snarled, "Get up!" unaware that the she-dog was deaf. His face was expressionless, but his glinting red eyes held a soulless, demonic glee, a look that his eyes only held when he was on the kill.

Sonya felt footsteps coming near and she shook her head, her vision finally clearing. She looked up at the dog that had attacked her and gasped, scrambling backwards a foot or two. "Jargo," she uttered, recognizing him as the leader of her pack's enemies. She had missed what he said and stayed put where she was, shaking visibly in fear.

"Get. UP!" Jargo bellowed at the poor, deaf, she-dog. "Before I tear you to bits!" he stalked closer, lunging, as if to bite, and baring his yellowed teeth, lips curled in a merciless snarl that promised death to her if she didn't comply soon.

Sonya took just a moment to register what he had said, feeling the rumble of his voice and knowing he was yelling. Though she shook, she managed to get to her feet pretty quickly, not wanting to be hurt. "Wh-What do you want from me?" she asked, her voice shaking as much as her body was.

"Just come along and you'll find out. And don't pull anything crafty; I can outrun you easily, and if you want to know where your elderly friend is, you'd best come with me." Jargo growled, angry. He turned to leave, growling under his breath and hoping that Harli was okay.

Sonya furrowed her brow. Elderly friend? He must have meant... Her father! Sonya gasped, though she resisted saying anything. Instead, she followed, afraid of what Jargo would do if she didn't.

Jargo led her along, grinning a wicked grin. He approached their den and saw Cujo. Enraged, he snarled and barked loudly. Then he showed Sonya to Swampson's den. "Get in!" he snarled, showving her towards it.

Sonya fell into the den, landing with her chin on the ground. She looked up to see her father, pinned to the floor by his neck with some strange dog standing over him. "Dad!" she gasped, scrambling to her feet.

"Stay back," coughed Swampson. His eyes were filled with deep fear now, but not for himself. They had his girl, his baby girl! And he was too weak to do a thing about it!
