After an unsuccessful scavenging trip, Sonya entered the church den in time to see Nessa fussing over her nest. Calmly walking over, she offered a smile and tilted her head. "Do you need any help?" she asked quietly. She had not heard the news of the pups yet, though the look on her face made it evident that she had noticed Nessa's condition.
Nessa jumped at the voice. "Oh hi Sonya." She acknowledged her friend. "I didn't see you at the meeting. I'm having pups soon. Not exactly the best time of year to have them. Food is scarce in the winter you know and....Oh nevermind you know all about the food conditions...what was I talking about???" Nessa rambled on. "Oh yes. I hope Endigo won't worry to much. I wonder how many I'll have..." She glanced at Sonya and blushed. "Sorry, I guess I've been touchy with the pups on the way."

Sonya's mouth fell open slightly as she watched Nessa ramble on, snapping it shut again when Nessa looked her way. "No, it's fine," she quickly said, hoping her tone was comforting. "Food is scarce, but spring is on the way," she added with a reassuring smile. "And it's not good for you to be stressing now." She moved so that she was closer to her own nest, which was made of some nice, dry leaves from the previous fall that smelled of acorns and fresh grass still. Sitting there, she looked back to Nessa. "If you need anything, I'd be glad to help," she offered with a nod, watching eagerly for the alpha female's response.

((...Nessa is alpha female, right? Sorry, it's kinda tricky to keep track of these things.))

Tessa walked away from Nessa and Endigo's den, feeling worse than when she had entered it... Curling up under her bush on her firmly pack bed of dried yellow grass... "Do I really have any friends?" Wondered Tessa out loud.....
