Buck chortled. "Hurts huh? If that hurts, pft! I can't wait to see what you'll do when Harli attacks you!"

Harli laid on her side, her chest rising and falling with uneven gasps of breath.

"You're Melanie's mate? No... no, Banner! No! No! No! Don't leave me! Don't go! Please... no!" Rex sobbed, hunched over Banner's body.

"If she lives..." Endigo snickered.

"Just stay calm; relax..." Jargo soothed. He glared at Endigo. "Put him in a den, and, Buck, make sure you don't let him go!" Jargo ordered. "If he escapes... kill him...!"

(I just cried when I read that Banner died. I am not kidding. My brother is rolling his eyes at me. It was an incredibly clever way to reveal Melanie's mate, but... why?

Delano felt Stone's teeth in his scruff, but he did not mind the pain. He instead reached for Stone's hind legs with the intention of ripping his foe off of him and throwing him to the ground.

Banner jerked his head up one last time, then uttered one last sentence. "Rex, thank you for being my friend. You were wonderful. Keep my Melanie safe." Then he shuddered, and fell to the ground.

"With pleasure." Buck snickered, and dragged Endigo to a spare den.

Harli whimpered, and tried to lift her head. "I will kill him Jargo... someday." She choked.

(I know, it just seemed like something tragic had to happen, even though I didn't want it to. Possibly, I would like that too.)

"I will..." Rex said, his voice barely a whisper, as though it couldn't get past the huge lump in his throat.

Endigo leaped from Buck's jaws, and ran to a corner of the den. "Keep away from me!" he snarled, furious.

"I will make sure you get better to do so..." Jargo said, nuzzling her.

(Stop posting sad posts! I'm crying like a baby, and the whole family is in the living room with me, looking at me funny! I gotta keep composure!)
 
Delano only grinned. "You are weak," he murmured in his deep, rumbling voice. Then he reared onto his hind legs and began to fall to his back. Stone would have to let go or be crushed underneath Delano. Delano was confident that, either way, it would work out for him.
