I can see the day it will be, I lost my post just before I was done with it.
Ivie, You have Judy all wrong. Way wrong.
Dog's clumsy chasing chipmunks. Cats be good.
Yokohama cockerel is in isolation after becoming bold with his actions around a white sport Pullet.
There that is the readers digest version of the post I lost.
What size bands do you guys use? My zip ties are almost unreadable and I had one tighten up on a hen the other day. I had to catch her and cut it off giving her a new number.
I picked my first CLB pullet for next years breeding stock. She is a little small. I hope she grows, but her barring is superb! She has a smaller crest, but I think the rooster can cover that. She has a good disposition, that means she did not put a hole in my hand. I have her in her own cage right now.
I am not sure what to do with Andy. He is crestless, I tried to brush his crest back in yesterday, Nada, did not work. Maybe I should try rubber bands and make a pony tail on him. His comb is not smooth though and is too large. I am not sure of his fate. I am tending to think the small crested hen and him would make good combs, or hoping it will.
Judy found 2 more huge watermelons in the garden yesterday. That brings my total of watermelons up to 5 this year. Yep, the weeds are that tall now that they hide melons!. My scale only goes up to 15 pounds. I got the error message when I tried to weigh it. I am guessing the larger one is 20-25 pounds. I am so impressed I have never gotten much for watermelons before. I guess the rain was good for something.
We are going to harvest squash and Pumpkins today. Probably bring in the rest of the cabbage too.
After more coffee and BYC I might start the days work...
