Surviving Minnesota!

Quote: LOL I hope you are wrong about the Cochins because I have 3 LOL!!! and.... NO I have 2 Wyandotte Roosters going to the big coop in the sky today. the ONLY rooster that has a reprieve is the Cochin.

Just catch them at night and put them in a holding cage, butcher the next day.

sometimes I amaze myself at how stupid I can be.......

Don't know why I didn't think of that...

So...even if I was hesitant before about giving the ax to the rest of the roosters, last night cinched the deal for them. 4 roosters ganged up on one hen and it took my husband beating them off with a rake to get them away from her!!! Her head was all bloody and she is bald in a spot about the size of a half dollar now! but she seems to be fine and eating well this morning. (gang rape is not a pretty site in any species

)

After work today, it's off with their heads! What can I put on her neck....maybe antibiotic ointment or should I just leave it be?

That is terrible. I've heard of That happening before.

You can put Vetericyn on her. Or antibiotic ointment. Blukote as well.

Ralphie boy I am anxiously awaiting the final version of the show report. I was quite distraught that you wouldn't acknowledge me just because I was hugging my chickens!!

Your son sounds as if he would be fun to talk with. He would likely give the straight scoop regarding a certain individual we know?

Just as in the real world, there are a lot of different personalities amongst the show poultry world. Some people consider the whole bunch to be wacky?

You will have to tell us if there were any chickens which really impressed you enough to consider adding some to the flock.
