Surviving Minnesota!

You know  about the area then . No one has admitted to Polish . The DNA ancestry test came back with hits in Germany , Sweden , Swiss , Denmark , Netherlands and France . Alas my German grandmother came from Hesse Darmstadt . So Hessian near France . Seems border crossing is a human trait .

I would love to get one of those tests to see what I am. I know i am predominantly German and Scots-Irish but there is a portion we are unsure of. Maybe some English? Maybe something else? My grandma when discussing heritage used to occasionally mutter that she thought " there was a 'negro' in the woodpile" except not so PC.... So who even knows

Are they expensive?

You all are so energized. I think I need to start some Vitamin D this fall. Despite the nice temps.
I work indoors alot and am missing out on the short amount of daylight we have. I'm beginning to believe this is important stuff for me. Healthwise. Dad is coming over with his chainsaw this weekend to finish up a few downed trees around our yard from the summer storms. It will be good to do work with him.

Plans also to tackle our car garage before winter....needs a good clean out. Broken garbagey stashed stuff and hard decisions on stuff we don't use any more...are going to be made. Get to those house windows. Coop Winter prep finalized.

Vitamin D supplements for me the next few days to feel energized for projects at hand! LOL

I'm going to do the Ancestry.com thing for FIL. He is a mutt and he knows it. He knows he's a little swiss...but that's about it. He expressed he wanted to know more this summer and he's always difficult to buy for Christmas and Birthday present...so this is what I'm going to do.

I hope to be parking in the garage by the weekend myself!! Winter prep clean out is always a good time to de clutter. Just sold some old tools and things I have upgraded and padded my pocket a bit plus less junk sitting around!!

Oh they've taken a jump then. My sister did one that was $100. I maybe should ask her which one she did...
I think it depends on how much you have done DW was tracking her father's side . He was adopted His natural father claimed it was not his since he and his wife were separated then divorced . So she had to do a wider search since any surviving siblings would not consent to testing . Turns out it was his . Still her remaining Aunt considers her father a half brother . He is deceased ,

Holm, you do realize that Cochins are not so much a chicken as just a ball of feathers? Does this strain require AI to reproduce? That to me is not right, and I would never have a variety of birds which required it.

Ralphie, some years ago there was a God awful noise/scream in the middle of the night when we were staying at the cabin on Prairie Lake. I have not heard the sound before or again. I suspected a Cougar as my FIL sighted one there but then again it may simply have been an angry Sasquatch?
Yep I do. These wouldnt be my fist Cochins. Just a little trimming of the vent feathers and they are fine.

Sounds like an important thing to find out for her and too bad the others wouldn't help. It's cool she found this way around things though. Very neat.
