Surviving Minnesota!

2 lines for Ice Fishing I believe, right? Open Water Angling Just the one....? Should ask DH.

My Grandpa got a Ticket way back in the 80's that made my Dad giggle. He had a reel go bad on him...so he cast out another line while he fixed the other. Then he had a visit from a timely game warden.

You are correct unless fishing under lessor Scandinavian rules. They have a hard time counting to 2 during the winter...

Jerry I believe we can use two rods Ice fishing and when trolling you can use quite a few I was told. I see people fishing who have 3 rods per person... But thats fishing for trout on Long lake campground by clear water.

Those are lessor Scandinavian, Hope the Warden does not notice the several rods......

Fishing for salmon or trout on Lake Superior you can use two lines. What stinks is fishing the border waters with SD or WI with a person from the those states in the same boat as you, They can use two lines and we can only use one. Even buying an out of state license in SD or Wi does not get you around the law......I had hoped it would.

Handled all the cochins today but the black frizzle was a butt hole the whole time.. my friend who shows sheep and I are anxiously waiting for the state fair committee to release the dates for livestock. I will probably be going up there with her since my parents can not come up until when showing starts or later.

I have only lost 3 chicks so far which I am considering good.

My hope for a dozen eggs was shattered with only 8. But at least I did not find any evidence with all my checking of egg eating. I am still at 59 birds after the culling on Saturday. I still have 9 roosters. I will get rid of a few more once I breed with some. Like I want to bread the EE because it may have that blue egg gene over a black australorp and maybe get a blue/green egg with a cushion comb for layers. Once I set those eggs he is gone. I also don't think I will keep our Barred Rock Rooster or Rhode Island Red Roo. So that will give me 7 and a bunch of hens. I am totally going to need a bachelor pen when growing out babies this summer. More work more work. Idle hands are not something I am very familiar with.

I WANNA CRY RIGHT NOW! THE *insert word of choice here* incubator I got u til my wafer can spiked to 133 degrees last night for no reason! They're all cooked... I have one living chick and the rest a dead... I hate this.

Oh no! I hate this too ,:(,

Ralphie, does not look good for JJ.  Another life lesson.  Try not to become too attached to livestock.  It is ok to become attached to dogs, but not livestock or cats in my opinion.  Cats have 9 lives anyway, unless there is a Fisher around.  Then they will be on the dinner menu.

I have to disagree with this EJB and we seldom disagree, I got far more joy out of his companionship than the pain the last couple days have been.   If I add up the plusses and the minuses of having a turkey for a  pet, the plusses are a thousand to one against the  minuses.    We had a lot of good days together followed by a couple bad ones.  That's life.

A guy on another thread when talking about animals as pets said (paraphrasing) Unless you have parrots, turtles and elephants for pets you have to know they will leave you.

I have had livestock for pets most of my life, it does not make it easier, but I know I will have more livestock for pets in the future.  Of course at my age the chances of them out living me get greater each go around.

In theory I agree with you on cats, but in practice I end up getting attached to them too...

Matter of fact OC came up to me tonight and let me pick him up without having to bribe him with food.

Now I have to decide if I work on training JJ Jr to be a lapper or not.  Sidekick just does not have the right personality, he is a half step above dinner, if that even.  The only reason he is still alive is because he was JJ's buddy and friend.

Nooooooo, not ,j j. So very sorry. :(

I should have read further......BTW we are 763 here.

Ralphie to be honest I wasn't sure. 763 is redeemable. Lol. There's some 320 stereotyping going on among the 218 locals and basically it comes down to if it's got two sides it's not going back in the water. Lol. So it's more about poking fun and making generalizations. And the gleam in the eyes when they see big woods and think it's theirs alone. Lol. We laugh and tease, I see it in FIL who spent his early years as a 320er.

I am afraid this chick is super annoying... When it can't see me it cheerps it's head off. At least when it's dark he is quiet. He cheers every once in awhile but not bad at night. I can't wait for him to get a few buddies this weekend.

I suppose I should **** Bobs Burgers off and go to bed... Gotta go fail my drivers test tomorrow...:p
