I didn't even see anyone there with chicks at all. Lots of guineas, couple peafowl, quail, lots of other pigeons, and just a few chickens and ducks. On the chickens I saw, I wouldn't have called any of them really decent. Terry had some Isabella leghorns if you are looking at a weird color. Junky hatchery stock for the most part. Lots of 4-H'ers looking for birds and nothing really to pick from. All I bought was just 5 Muscovy hens. Eagles have narrowed me down to 6 drakes and just 2 hens so I had to even it out a bit. I wanted showable colors though so no pied or anything with that random white on heads. I was shocked when I found 3 blacks and 2 blues and the fact they would sell just the hens. I was going to carry 2 back to my truck and my brother carried the crate with 2 more in it. Haha the bottom fell out of the crate and we ended up chasing those dang birds all over the fairgrounds. Got my exercise in before 8am in that brisk weather. I had another small dog kennel in back seat of my truck and put them in there for the ride home. Duck poop shoots though and now I have to tackle my truck with carpet cleaner and the steam vac.
