Better then my mom

she expects the house to be spotless when she comes back! The one time she was gone for 6 days, while we were building our house,(we were staying in our old house 250 feet away) and she expected my dad sister and I to put in all the light fixtures, light switches, fridge and freezer, TV, all the furniture, bathrooms all finished, windows all have trim on them, and put all the siding on a 44 x 50 house that on the two sides is about 25 feet high

I will be keeping maybe 3, 1 Australorp (which I believe I have 2), 1 Blue Cochin (I only have 1), and 1 Barred Rock (I think I have 4) or the Golden Laced Wyandotte (which I think I have 2 of but might only be 1, not sure on these guys) If I can sell them great or I will have to cull them at the end of this season

Yeah, see which ones have the best temperament and send the rest to freezer camp. I'm still unsure about my Golden Wyandottes as well. The coloring seems different on one, but I have no idea. No crows yet although I'm positive I have a beautiful little EE rooster. Adios buddy.

@duluthralphie , DH pulled weeds out of my hosta bed for me this weekend. I had to take a picture in case it never happened again. Perhaps you should do some weeding for Judy?

And yes, those are all weeds in the cart. I may have been slacking.

I have 4 GL Wyandottes, 2 are more golden with black accents and then the other two are opposite, they look almost black with golden accents??? weird... One of my Australorp Roo's is very curious about me ...it's kind of funny. He always comes over to me and cocks his head to one side and stares at me with one eye as if he is trying to figure out what the heck I am or maybe whether I am his friend or his worst nightmare

It is not really slacking this year, we went for no rain and yucky weather to Jungle humidity and rains. My grass/weeds went from non-existent to 8 ft tall overnight.

We went out of town for less than 48 hours. I left my father-in-law in charge of our teenage chickens. In perfect grandpa fashion he claims they squabbled about lights out time so he let them have the lights on all night. ("But they squawked so loudly, I thought I was wrong by shutting off the light.") Came back on Sunday around noon.... to a bunch of sleepy teens.

But he did teach them to use the drinking cup system......My motto about marriage. Find a good Father in Law. You can learn to deal with the son after the marriage vows.

Here is another picture of the 3 Kings.....they may have been prompted to come near me for photos with treats of Oats.

I get exactly what you mean. I'll have to get some picture of mine and we can compare. How old are yours again?

That roo might be a good one to start handling more. Name him Rupert.

It really is amazing. I had to weed around where we planted our raspberry and blueberry bushes this year. I swear the weeds around them grew 2 ft overnight. Bonus is I found a few older Oak and Maple seedlings on my weeding adventures. I'm gonna get those transplanted somewhere.

I was thinking about getting ton hanks. But with my aunts appenzeller schitzbauns I can't..

Okay. Good to know about Tom. Here is our (My DH is actually in on this

also) Today I did a temporary fence on the river bank to get an idea of what I want. It is probably 30' x 30'. I would say that is enough square feet for nine birds. There are plenty of trees and bushes to camafloge the birds and if the hens want to get away from Tom they can get under a bush. Next we will be moving the coop that was suppose to be a tractor to this area. Toms nails will be trimmed. In two to three weeks I will begin to acclimate my SS hens to Tom's flock and put the two RIR back in with him which will give him a harem of eight hens. That rooster can jump up to a man's face now and has tried a couple times with the neighbor and my DH. Tom hates men!

Where has Klops been?
