Surviving Minnesota!

So Ralphie. I have been looking around and boy have Legbar prices dropped! R they just getting more and more common? Meyer hatchery has dropped their price from $50.00 to $30.00 for sexed pullets. Which is still really expensive for a day old!! Alot more than GFF!! Do u have another "spicy" breed that will fly off the shelves next spring? I am sure the Legbars will still sell quickly but am jw!

I am only hatching for myself this coming spring. Its waaay to much work for very little profit with mutts. And I will only use broodies.... I think

Dickinson pumpkin

cucumbers for seed . Short one is 12 inches from a straight eight . The long ones are burp less Soyo long or something like that . open pollinated as I do not care if they cross .

Some of my F2 gourd x zucchini . The reason for these is squash borers kill my summer squash and leave the gourds alone . I was going to cross back to zucchini but they are all dead . So I will grow these .

I hope so, I am going to get rid of most of my CLB's except for a few for the egg basket colors.

I have some idea of Fufu's. I thought they were all doing 30 on female day olds last spring. I expect them to be 5-8 dollars this next year. Based on how badly I flooded the market this year it could be even less.

Sounds like a good idea!

GFF is selling pullets for $19.00 a piece right now!! I am thinking of getting some good quality Bantam Cochins for another project. Three breeds is good enough for me lol!

I have been thinking about a hatchery name for my NPIP papers and thought back to a year ago when I loved the name "Whiskey Creek Cochins". What do u all think? I absolutely love my cute Cochin bantams and was thinking i should get some good quality Black bantams!

It's a catchy name Holm. You could do some cute tongue-in-cheek advertising with that. So sorry about Daisy. Now I will have to google Hardware and learn my one thing for the day. Not sure I want to though....? :/

June and Patsy Roosted in the coop tonight! ON THEIR OWN! Yay.

And Dixie is laying eggs. Woot! But with wormers in the system. Cannot partake....dang it. They are dog food.

I feel like the young ones grew while I was away. Crazy how you can see a difference in 3 days. I will have 3 days of work this week then we're gone again. Good times with the family. Headed to Ely on Thursday morning...but we've heard power is still out up there. RVing isn't as much fun without juice.
