I did online this time . I suspect it is the Prince but waiting for a spore print . The cap slightly shaggy but does not show in the pic . On books I use the one I can find . Did not look yet .Jerry, which mushroom books do you use?

Ralphie, I am sorry about the birds and about your good friend. That is three awful happenings so you must be done with this streak of unusual experiences. I am sure of it.

Ralphie boy it just goes to prove the old adage that " shot happens", and as long as you are still on this side of the ground there are better days ahead.
We had a very fast race from Northfield yesterday with the birds to my loft average speed of 1,848 yards per minute. 168 air miles and home in 2 hr & 40 min. They traveled at an avg. of 63 mph. They go to race from Albert Lea on Friday. It will not be as fast as they will have head winds or cross winds.
Ralphie I failed to make a ID on the mushrooms . The book I used is the practial mushroom encyclopedia .I have a book by Paul Stammet of fungi perfecti and the Audobon field guide somewhere . I do not like the field guide . The book says the Prince stem is heavily scaled . So no match . Failed to put a cap facing down so no spore print . They are drying out now so past prime .
