Surviving Minnesota!

oakridge, I think your location gives you away?  Your girlfriend needs to forget all the bad rap pigs get and experience them for herself.  If you have a few they are no more work than other animals, and they are really very clean.  The mud wallow thing is when it is hot because they are unable to perspire to cool off.

The biggest positive is that bacon, ham and pork chops all taste so much better than goat!!!

Welcome back,,,,

I have a question that could help with the ID...How is the combining going?

x2 on some Amanita.  They rise out of a "sack" which you can see the remains on the stem and a bit of it scaled on the cap.  I would say Poisonous.

Ed:  Aren't you worried the birds will divert and get hung up eating on the Corn Palace?  Too much temptation there in Mitchell.  I don't think I've heard of Bruno...you are correct.

Welcome back GoFeedTheGirls.  LOL.  ;) Or Oakridge or whatever....LOL.  Missed ya!

The farming thing gave it away I think lol.
Ralphie we are done with all of our barley and wheat. We're helping neighbors now. We've been really wet the last month so it has been making things a little tough to deal with. I have some hay i need to get cut today but forecast isnt looking good for tonight so maybe tomorrow I can get it cut.

You don't know where Bruno is???? Really??

Do pigeons have a pecking order? If they do stopping at the corn palace would be out, there were about 5,945,312 pigeons there the last time I was there. That is a lot of pecking order to work into.

If you want to practice depooping and getting better at it, come on down!

I have a couple PC roosters that look good, but all my PC's looked good. The birds I got from EJB were primo. They have great looking offspring and good temperaments. I did not know they needed haircuts to conceive until Jerry told me about that. Most of my PC are too young to show. I have some super hens.

The other thing is my doing. I put a partridge EE in with ED to get the olive eggs, Which I got. But until they lay eggs I cannot be sure if they are full blooded PC or not. The Partridge EE/ PC offspring look that good! They have a slightly darker head is most cases. With the roosters I am not sure how I will know for sure..STUPID ME!

Lunch break . Trying to figure out my loader tractor problem . It only raises . Even raises a little in lower position . Tilt only goes down . So I was told to switch hoses to other coupler . I did that and problem stayed the same . So I suspect the directional valve .

Do you have hoses mixed up? 1 hose for lift and 1 hose for tilt in the same coupler? I've done that b4

He says he changed them, I am thinking a stuck or bad valve.

BTW I am in for lunch I have been hanging CD's all over the farmyard. It is looking like a wind chime factory around here. I hope that works to keep the aerial assaults down. I think I am going to place a couple radios outside to play "talk" radio all night.

I am also thinking a few motion detector lights and some of those "predator" eyes you can buy.

This little 3 cylinder diesel only has 2 couplers . It was set up so you could not do it wrong . I had to switch the ends so I could reverse them . Up and down changed as it should have but I still have the problem . It will lift but no go down . It will even lift a little in down . Thinking the valve is at fault . Turn it off and it will lower a little each time you try but will not go down all the way in one try .

I like my motion detector light on the coop. Windy nights and deer passing can set it off quite alot. But I think it does more than I realize. I think too I should buy a couple more ...for each side of the coop really.

I saw a documentary last night and have been obsessed with it today. On monogenic diabetes. I have friends with children who have type 1 diabetes. Who, essentially, their lives could be changed with 1 genetic test. They even showed adults with Type 1 getting tested and they've done the conversion to oral medications. Amazing. Okay that's my side track for the day. Anyone with DM Type 1 should check out Monogenic Diabetes with a google.

Ya probably a valve at fault...unfortunately.

I should really get one as well. It would be handy for putting them in at night too, that's usually when I fill feeders and what not.
