Surviving Minnesota!

They did but to me the 70's was not that long ago.   I want red on my tractors!

A grew up with beige and orange case tractors. I will never forget the day my grandma bought a 1370 turbo and said 'I don't even know what a turbo is but I've got one now!'

When her equipment went to auction I was not in a financial situation to buy one of her tractors and that makes me a sad panda

I butter bread with Coconut oil for Grilled cheese instead of butter. Use it to fry eggs I put some in my hot chocolate. It helps with energy levels and all. It really doesn't taste coconutty, just a sweetness but not sugar sweet. I don't know. My family puts up with it! Plus it is a really good skin moisturizer that we use all the time instead of lotions. Has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties too.
Where's the best place to get "good" coconut oil? How expensive is it usually?

Ok I got a story but first let me say I am fine . Fell off the roof early today . Knocked me out for about 5 minutes I was told . Scrambled my thinking a bit . Wife took me to the ER . Checked out ok . Nothing broken just a couple of head bumps . MRI found a small blood spot in my head . I asked her what happened and she said you fell off the roof . I said what was I doing up there ? I could not remember I was roofing for a few minutes . So I am resting the rest of the day . I think I will tie off with a rope tomorrow . I did this before . Just seemed to have good traction today but not in that spot . Went to the Chiropractor for some massage to relax some muscles . Ate a late lunch at the Chinese buffet . Told my wife my fortune cookie said you take short trip .

Glad you're ok.

Just don't tie that rope off around your neck! I think it goes around an ankle.

Seriously glad to hear you are recovering.
When I was little we had to shingle the barn roof, I was too little to help but I do remember my sisters teasing about putting the rope around their neck so that if they slipped they would end up right side up instead of upside down as they would if they were to tie it around their ankle.
On a side note, we had a neighbor that did alot of roofing. He was missing a leg (don't recall how he lost it but I think it was a PTO accident) but he would always joke that he could just nail his wooden leg to the roof so he didn't need to be tied.

I have no idea about Lasik, (thanks for helping ne spell it)...

The idea of someone cutting into my eyes drives me nuts.

My Kids got their eye genes from their mother. I have vision that is better than 20/20 still at my age. I do need reading glasses, but that is normal for us old guys, I guess.

I have a swollen nose now. Well kind of, I saw one of my turkeys favoring her one leg. I caught her to look at it. She beat the poop out of me picking her up. My turkeys are not lappers! (except JJ). The numbered zip tie had tightened up. I exchanged it for a bandette. I have had to do that to several of the zip ties. Bandettes might fall off but they will not hurt the birds. I need a better option.
I had lasik about 15 years ago and I would recommend it to anyone! Of course, I had very bad eyesite, couldn't hardly see without my glasses, I don't know if I would try it if they hadn't been that bad because, yes, it is scary to think about.

I realize these are just zip ties also and they are sold out at the moment but you gotta check them out,

Something went very wrong with their marketing department because they should have stuck with red. DH was looking at the Husqvarna's, too. Orange would have been better than yellow.

My Grandparents always had those on the farm, too, Klop. They had a few Case tractors. It's funny how I remember the color more than anything. The farm was auctioned off in 1997 and the tractors went with it. At the time I wasn't nearly old enough to appreciate any of it, but if I could go back I'd make a bid for it all.

@bantiesrule , I buy everything off of Amazon, so you can check there. Otherwise, I've seen it at Target and most larger scale grocery stores. I prefer to buy the "raw" version of anything if I can.

Also this talk about non green tractors has just about made me leave the thread. We bleed green! In fact my husbands pickup line to get number was...." so your dad owns a John Deere 80."

BC - Depending on what I am purchasing I would not trust them to pick it out for me. It could be warped or chipped. Personally, I go right to the city desk and in my most helpless voice (no whine though) I ask if they can direct me to product that I need. Then I check every single board foot for warp and knot. I hope this information is helpful. It is time-consuming at the front end but I don't have to worry about the return trip to exchange product. It took many return trips to learn this lesson.
