Election: I too want a re-anty. Candidates have been brought up by media and hollywood (social media). It's a complete s-show for those of us who live 'real lives' in the midwest. And I'm not laughing here. The reason we have the candidates we do, is because this election was created for us like an American Idol contest. So now you have to toss out their character traits and focus on their policy. Make your decision based on that. I think my statements are bi-partisan and I will not get in trouble here.

As for the feed lots....they need proper employees managing them.....I have seen some poorly managed/stinky dairy (2,000 milk cow) feed lots and I have seen some well managed non-stinky 3,500 cow milking operations. Just 3 years ago my husband and I were "on the list" for site visits for a Golden Plump Grower Barn. We spoke to neighbors and had one neighbor adamently oppose it, so we decided to scrap the plan. She has since moved. Instead, I have my backyard flock so maybe it was a blessing that she opposed it.

As for the elections....I want to vote the way our Junior High and High School students were given the opportunity to vote. Fill in the bubble for the candidate of your choice Trump, Clinton, Neither.

LOL.  I wonder who that will be, Holm? 

I took a really nice quiz on who I should vote for.  It took foreign policy, social policy, etc...all into account.  There were areas where I knew I didn't totally agree with my candidate.  But in the end it showed I was in agreement by 87%.  Writing on the wall.  Decision made.

Good luck with that. There has been a 5-6 year battle going on down here on a feedlot that went up by dodge center. The permit was granted in a fly by night fashion that was a bit under the table without the input of the community so it has been back and forth

We found out early and it was discovered that they tried to fly it in fast and loose and excluded a few items on the environmental permit application. The township is going to pass an interim ordinance restricting the number of animal units allowed and the setback from neighboring properties and wells. This isn't this outfit's first time doing this, but it doesn't seem likely it will pass here. We have a majority of the voting residents already signing against it or have vouched to do so.

Not to rain on any parades but politics are not a topic we are supposed to be discussing in this venue.
As we have discovered in the past, what may sound like jovial joking around to some may be found offensive to others and attract attention of mods and those who hand out the super secret disciplinary admonishments (ask Ralphie).
