Oh What fun  to have a road trip Ralphie!  When you went from Federal Dam to Remer, did you go through Boy River? or did you go down to 200 and then east over to Remer.  Boy River is 'Bogtown'.

Yes I think it's quiet on here because we're doing the mad scramble.  I see wintry mix on our county.  Of course it's going to rain first and give us a skating rink.  Ugh.  I hate that.  Birds are in the run this AM. DS helped me move the broody coop out of the run.  And I set up their jungle gym.  (Pine poles criss crossing and Hay bales)  Junior hopped right up on a pole and started walking it and checking it all out.  LOL.  Kind of cracked me up.  The Youngster.  Tootsie in latter years could have cared less.  Weather Suppose to start at 10AM--some rain.  I filled waterers and feeders.  My hands got that not so nice cold feeling after they got wet.  Here we go....  Birds really picked up on eating feed this past month as well.  I'll need to buy two bags at a time now.... 

Neighbors are up.  Came up last night.  So I'm walking my dog on a leash like a city slicker for the next 4 days it looks like.  No collar yet.  F. I thought i had at least 2 more days without them.  See?  Neighborly love is  gone.... Last weekend of Rifle season though.  So probably just one PITA weekend to go here.  I don't think they black powder. 

I forgot you guys have a 'late season' up here. I was a little concerned you were off a week for a second.

Sounds like most of the crud will go north of us down here. I'm off work tomorrow and will be scrambling to get things picked up no less. Also need to get the snow fence up. I was going to do it 2 weeks ago but thought it would look silly having a snow fence up when it was 68 degrees. Should have done it anyways!!

Spent my lunch break looking at a 'new' plow truck at the local auction house. Might keep an eye on it and see if it stays reasonable. Wouldn't mind upgrading my rusty but trusty C10

Sounds like a good time! you listed off a few of my favorite places. The resort doesn't let him winter his trailer there?

He can winter it there, he has just decided to sell it. He gets up there once a year pays $150 a month to keep it there. He decided it makes more sense rent a cabin the one night a year he gets up there.

Sort of like my cabin, I have not been to in over a year.

our fridge usually has 6 or so dozen in it at any time but sales have really peaked this fall now that the farmers market is over. right now we have 4 dozen and they are all spoken for!

I've got 20 standard sized layers, 4 of which should be in the soup pot but they were my first so they are getting a pardon. And 5 bantams.
Last year I was getting about 30 eggs a day. Next spring I want to get about 80 laying hens. Now il getting just a mere 1 dozen from these darn slackers who are all being sold next year except the 4 oldies and 2 roosters.

I'm thinking of getting White Faced Black Spanish, BCM, whiting true blues, and buff rocks

With me I'm waiting to actually start selling til next year again. I hate having people bugging me for eggs. When I was getting over 2 dozen last year my grandma was taking 12 dozen a week to sell at her school, and I had a neighbor taking 10 dozen a month for him and a friend along with 2 dozen every other week for a teacher.
And then I also sold eggs for the church events and some local events for fish fries and that good stuff.





Just started the pickup to go to the One Act, they just won regionals so they're off to state next week. Apparently its inappropriate but we'll see

MNChickMom. did that stupid rooster learn his place in the world or are you planning to eat him. I have a young one you can just have if you want to let Hubby stop by. I promise to only let him have the one.

I am not sure if I will be home much or at all until sunday. Depends on the snow and if I go to New Ulm. The one I have ( actually I have a few you can take which ever one you want). The one I am thinking is not at all tame he lives in the pen with his Mom, sisters and King George. I doubt he is aggressive like the one you have.

So weird, the other one "cuddles" is such a sweetie..

And being Jerry and EJB love to hear about cuddling birds. I have a SS pullet and a CLB pullet in the same cage. When I open the cage to change water or feed them, remove eggs or whatever, they peck/poke at my hand and fingers until I pick them u. hold them cuddle them and walk then around. Yea even a flighty CLB that is luvable!

I took one of them for a walk the other night and sat in the yard with her and she just cozied up to me and "purred" in chickenese. She just wants to be a house pet,

I am thinking of putting her on Craigslist as a trained Therapy chicken. I bet she would love to fly Delta, or SunCountry..

Morning peeps, haven't been on in about a week, hope every thing is going ok, been working some ot at work, don't usually offer it, special project. Looks like winter is here today, suppose to have 30mph winds and snow. Sounds like blizzard conditions to me. Hopefully not though. Have a great day everyone! Hope everyone has their plastic up!
