Surviving Minnesota!

I have to disclose the first comment out of her mouth on the way home.

12 year old daughter: "I just can't believe Wienerhead actually mated the hen while I was there to see it, now hopefully he did his job correctly and picked a hen that throws females."
10 year old son: "Well it's not like you were there (Ralphies) this morning taking care of his manhood....like you did to all those poor bulls."

The stories that go down in a farm kids car. I just roll my eyes.

Disclaimer: Earlier Saturday morning we were casterating bulls.

LOL we know what you mean about farm kid stories like that. My little cousin was walking with my grandpa aunt and i out in the pasture one day and a calf was nursing... He flipped out cuz he thought the calf was sucking on his moms uuuhh boy parts tht he thought all cows had... So my aunt had a long conversation with her THREE year old about how mom cows have teats for the calf to nurse and not boy parts

They first picture is where ralphies chickd spent the first night. Poor things had a heated tote to sleep in.

The second picture is after my hubby made a coffin just like ralphie because it seemed to hold the heat so much better than conventional insulation. The coffin is really just a liner in a cage we already built but because ralphie had one...my husband thought we needed one. I have since put a corner restriction in.

I am glad I am not the only one using Ralphies coffin idea! But I still need to finish mine...

Anyone else watch the SuperBowl? I was soooo happy the Pats won! They are my second favorite team after the Pack... And if you did watch it what did you think about "Mother Monsters" halftime performance? I thought it was better than the past few. Especially the beginning.

Finally headed home. If Rue had laid another egg I may be tempted to start up the bator

. Or put some under a broody.
Ugh! I need to get some more from Jamie!

My Polish rooster flipped out today.

The idiot has always jumped at me through the wire, but when I open the door he is meek and mild.

I opened the door today and he tried to jump at me. He then spent 15 minutes under my arm with my hand covering his head and holding it tight and still. He backed way away from me when I opened the door this afternoon.

He should be careful his replacement is not a lot different than he is, and could move up in rank.

I still like the Polish though.

I have a chicken with a sore vent, I think. I got a huge egg.  4.1 ounces!

3 1/2 long and 2 1/2 wide.

That's what my RSLs are laying almost everyday now... time for some heads to be chopped off.

My frizzle cock is doing his job!!!!

Yep - watched it all. Do not ask me about the plays. I am no goodwith t at that. I know who catches Wthe ball and where they are on the field and I watch them run. I do not have a favorite team for obvious reasons. IF it is not the Vikings then it is Green Bay. After that I watch the games of the teams that are closest to Minnesota. So Patriots? Atlanta? Whatever. (By-the-way, whatever is the number one most frustrating word in the USA at this time. Makes sense.)

But! the above being said - HOLY COW! I woke up my DH near the end and told him that he did not want to miss this. It was before O T. He fell back to sleep in his recliner. Woke up long enough to see the Patriots win.

The half time show. I thought she did a fantastic entertainment halftime. Lady Gaga is not really my cup of but I thought that she was really good. The costume changes - I wondered when she got to make them. Man, she must have had helpers ripping off her clothes as she moved onto the next set. And her tummy did not bother me in the least. If only I could have that tummy again. Ah, age, how sweet it is. So many wonderful memories.
