He has a date with a nice Asian Lady, I suppose I could stop that date for you......

This is a real old one of the other guy.. He has matured a lot since this picture. He has the long saddle and hackle feathers now.

Its ok. The date with the Asian lady can take precedence over me.

I am betting my May I would have some young males that want to go fishing. I know mnchickmom has a few of these and I bet one of them will be a boy too...

What did you hatch Jerry? Is that a domed something in the back?

No just bad hair day . These are from the cuckoo projects pen . The black is a male cuckoo . The lavenders are 1 male lavender cuckoo and the other 2 possibly female lavender cuckoo or just lavender . No noticble head spot . Beautiful day out there . Got to get back out there .

.....do hens that are hatched out of a certain color egg.....lay that color egg? EG: Brown egg hatches, hen will lay brown eggs. Blue egg hatches, hen will lay colored eggs. Still playing the "who is laying what!!!!!!" game around here and having a head scratching day so far!

Argh. Lice...a few mites on the roo. Dang it Dangit Dangit!

Discovering this in the peak of laying season is not a joyous occasion. June carter was depressed looking this morning . Fluffed up a second day in a row. IDK...I may lose her. She's never been super strong. She took forever to recover from her hatch and she has the Scots Dumpy legs on her. Anyways, she was looking fluffed and I tipped her over to take a look...she did not struggle. She's got cooties. I wormed her and did the drops on her. The laying hens I will get NuStock on and keep up with that. I'm not doing Ivermectin on their backs while they are laying. Good thing it's warming up so I can do my favorite job in the coop.

IDK...how it happened...but we do have that group of wild Turkeys coming into the yard every so often. And I think in the fall the migratories forage in the leaves and my birds get to chasing and are territorial with the tweeties. IDK.... IDK...

I use bio spot defense flea and tick spray on my house dog . Works better than anything else I tried . I have used it for mites on chickens . Off label use so IDK . It has 3 ingredients Etofenprox , (S)-Methoprene and Piperonyl Butoxide .

Thank you Jerry for giving a good option. With the hens that are laying and with the eggs we're eating...I think I might try the NuStock with the sulfur and Pine Tar and Mineral Oil. I'll have to be on my toes with that--more and diligent reapplications. But I don't like throwing out eggs because of chemicals and with the Frontline and such I think I'd have to. Those go systemic or at least into the oil glands and then their preening with their beaks so I'm sure some pesticide is ingested.

The Non-layers and rooster are getting the chemicals. Its early in the infestation it appears too. Not too many eggs on the feather shafts. But the little Black Ameraucana June is affected more than I would have thought at this point. Hope there's no underlying issue...which there could be too.
