, where did you get your green bands from? I'm going to sell of some of my chicks and want to band the ones to keep. I don't want another "I sold your favorite chicken" occurrence! Poor DH.

On a sad note, one of my little chicks got dive bombed and it's knee joint got dislocated. I tried popping it back in and secured it. It seemed fine for a few days, but just popped back out again. I don't foresee this being something I can resolve. I'm a wuss when it comes to the little ones. Any humane suggestions for putting it to sleep?

I got these from Strombergs. I usually by all my poultry supplies from there or the local L&M.

Sorry about the chick! My grandpas friend always tells us "if a cow can do it, they will!" I am sure that goes for chickens and any livestock!

Update on "Baby". Still a brat. When I come into my room she comes jumping over her 8inch high brooder and is waiting to greet me. When she is ready to warm up she runs over there and waits for me to pick her back up and put her in. Then when she is ready to come see me again she just hops out. She is also addicted to Netflix on our Kindles. She will sit in front on the kindle and just watch it none stop... Winder when she will realize she's a chicken... What's she gonna think when she goes to the big coop...

Morning . WW surgery got cancelled due to her having a skin infection . Probably staph . I slept much better . Knee feels good so does neck and shoulder .
I took laptop with me yesterday . Probably made the geek squad guy's day . He was not very helpful so since I had no charm left after a poor nights sleep I put the pressure on . No they will not print off instructions . No apple does not print paper instructions . So I said what you going to import pictures every time I need it done ? So he says Barns and Noble sells a book on how to use the Mac book . Finally something useful from this guy . So across the mimi mall to buy the book . Really not impressed with this . It is like buying a appliance without a power cord .

On a plus I do not need add blocker on this site as apple does not use windows . No malware protection to buy . I bought the extended protection where they fix everything . No more green screen on Facebook .So windows being slow to load seems to have been my problem . I bought because the local repair guy said I solved all my problems and bought Apple .

Just done with chick chores I've got the yokkies figured out....once a week move them to new environment and decrease light. They are a lot tamer last couple of days.

I think "your" tech guy is misleading you. You should be able to print anything that is showing on your screen, including instructions.

I have heard the Apple people say you do not need to worry about viruses or malware. I have also read that is a fallacy, Apple is not hacked as much as windows, however as Apple becomes used by more people there are people hacking and causing mischief on the Apple platform.

I am not a Techie, I have read this a year or two ago and it seems to be bearing out. Good Luck Jerry..




I had a senior moment on Tuesday night. I discovered it last night. I moved all this weeks eggs into the hatcher. I placed 6 egg on top of the incubator, not the hatcher, as I arranged the eggs in the hatching pens. Last night I went to check the hatcher and saw the eggs on the top of the incubator. I put them in the hatcher but I doubt they will hatch. I had turned up the heat in the basement to 77 degrees the other day as I was working on the furnace and needed it to fire.


That might save me, who knows. The basement was very warm 77 degrees and the in my other senior moment I forgot to turn the furnace back down.......

I am hoping between the warm basement and the eggs setting on the incubator which is warm, they did not die but just took a slight hiatus from developing and will hatch albeit a little late.

I am lucky I remember to but my pants on in the morning.. Getting old is No fun!
