Good Morning Chickeners . . . .  Couldn't sleep. Wind woke me up around 3:00 so I got up and started cleaning. I will leave the house to take care of the flock. I will work on bookkeeping for the company today. So Cluckies and erlibird - you are up and out to leave for work? This is when I enjoy being 'retired.' I have paid my dues. :weee   And I have a couple of seed catalogs here to look at.  Holy Cats that wind is howling and according to the news it is going to get worse. Be safe each and everyone of you. Stay warm too.

Yep, up for work, I get up at 3. Not able to retire anytime soon. I'm 48(I think, I always lose track) so it will be awhile unless I come into some money! (Willing to take donations if anyone has extra lying around) ;)

Good morning Ralphie. Glad to see your head poking up here this morning.

Birds came out into the run for their scratch and greens which I need to restart again since we're covered with snow....Cleaned out manure this morning. Ive been just shifting the cut open feed bags over to one corner of the coop in the morning. And sliding them in place at night. So after 3-4 days...I get the larger pile then out. Beings that its a bit more brisk and freezing like temps I thought it would be a good time to pop the whole mass off into the manure/garden storage bags outside. Garden Gold. Waiting for Spring. And now waiting longer....

Was not to bad here today, the birds all came out. The blue pullet looks better everyday and I am hoping the bird flu gets under control so I can show her. She still has not layed yet and i am anxiously waiting. This morning i saw some geese overhead, thankfully they flew away and didn't stop in the creek

Need to do yard clean up today . Grass is greening . Mowing is coming . I see a clump of chick weed close to the foundation . Treat for the chicks .

I was looking at the 2016 ND State Fair schedule it's the same for this year most likely, you can do the early penning, at 5 to 8 pm p.m. on Friday which I think i will do so its not such a rush. Poultry show starts on Sunday at 11am. And then the release of poultry is 6 p.m. on Monday. I have to wait and see when the regular time check in for poultry is this year, if I'm going up there with Annika I have to do what will work best for her and her sheep.
