I actually know someone who lives not to far from my Uncle up here who buys all of his hay. He doesn't own a tractor or any haying equiptment. So really he isn't spending any more then those of us with equiptment. It really isn't a bad way to go when you think about it.All these photos and writings about haying bring back memories. You have not had fun until you put up 8,000 square bales in one haying season. This while working a full time job in addition. We did have some help, but it was primarily the little woman and I.
If I have cattle again I will not invest in haying equipment. I will buy the hay and save the time and labor for more enjoyable pursuits.
Same here, it is the only time when I ever get the chance to show other animals, like sheep and beef, or the only time I get to sit down and watch shows. Plus the people up there are really nice to hang out with, even if I have no clue who they are, cue the random goat people. And our extension agents campsite is always a fun place to hang with everyone from the County and more!I don’t care how I place at state as long as I make a trip... I always make memories I’ll never forget..
Good Morning all! Kinda chilly yesterday. Sweatshirt weather.
I am still working my paying job, the transition has been crazy to say the least. Originally, I planned to leave June30 and not be a part of the merger but when my boss walked out, it left a huge void and possible opportunities.
Tonight Hubby and I are going shopping to get all new lumber for tables and plywood for poultry barn at the fair. We have a workday scheduled for Saturday to modernize and clean the poultry/rabbit barn. Please say a prayer as I will be working with some awesome people and some people that need to “take a chill pill”.
Buckeyes are looking nice this year.
