Surviving Minnesota!

For those of you that don’t want pigeons I hope you change your minds... They’re my favorite birds by far.. This is one of my better brown barred Horseman Pouter cocks.. Awesome bird and he’s actually quite friendly. Been working with him in hopes of getting a brown hen to use as a pair for 4H..

Sounds like I have a butt load of sick birds in the back but I don’t! I fed them before I filled their waterers and they got pretty darn wheezy!

I am now very good at AIing birds!! LF and Bantam. Which is super exciting. I am going to split the Cochin females up into 2-3 pens tonight so I can start AIing sometime this week and start hatching.
The Wyandottes seem to be naturally breeding but to be safe I will AI them

I have decided to take up a collection for poor roosters. I currently have 26-28 poor roosters living at my place. They have no girls interested in them and have no real future. I figure the cost of feeding these worthless birds should be evenly divided amongst all of us. If you would like to take these poor roosters in please let me know and you can have some. If you take 10 or more we could start a second fund for you to feed those birds.

I just realized I never posted the pictures of the Partridge Wyandottes, so here are some pictures from sunday

I’m hiding anywhere warm!

Anyone have good idea to keep bantam cockerels busy? And by busy I don’t mean extra curricular events that involve pullets. I have a black Orpington pullet who will not hop down from her perch due to his exponential amount of testosterone in his system! She even quit laying on me.
Ideas ? Anyone?
