Survivor Nicargua

I was another one of us yelling at the TV set. I was also online, and I IMmed my best friend, getting HER involved in my burst of annoyance - and she doesn't even watch Survivor.

Eat the ROOSTER, you bunch of idiots!

Yup, I was yelling at the tv, too. Idjits. As they walked toward the pen I said, "Watch, they'll eat the easiest one to catch and it will be a hen."
I hate it when I'm right.

I've enjoyed this season as much as any of the others. Always someone to like and someone to despise.
DD hates Na', so she enjoyed watching her cry.

The young one seem so... young!
Na' is 26?? Really??? I was thinking 16.

Well - I don;t get that programme here - being so far away and all.
I was reading the posts and thinking - three birds in a cage and they eat the hen not the rooster???????????????

Well I don;t know how long they have to survive???? Cause I don't watch the show but for me and you all are not going to agree here I probably would have not eaten any - but if I had to eat one it would have been the HEN

- I will explain my insanity!!!!

If I had to survive long term - I don;t think I would be eating the Roooster untill he has produced a good crop of new chickies!!!!!!! I mean if that is the only rooster they had and there was two hens - well I am thinking a loud here? Personally I wouldn;t have eaten any of them to start with untill I know which hen was a good broody girl!!!!!!!
Maybe I missed something ? But I am kind of thinking long term survival on an island with only 3 chickens!!!! They have to go a long way !!!!!! Eating is NOT WHAT I WOULD BE DOING WITH ANY OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well not until I got a good crop of chicks running about!!!!! And more Roos just in case someone ate him - then there would be a few spares!!!!

The "survivor" period is only 39 days, of which at least ten or twelve have already elapsed. I would not have killed any of them unless it was VERY close to the end, there had been NO food rewards (which there are usually a few during the course of the 39 days), and the remaining tribe mates were too weak to be able to function without protein. THEN I would make sure I sacrificed the rooster, and not a hen. sheesh...

They were only getting one egg a day. Bet they ate the hen that laid that egg....

I'd've eaten the rooster pretty quickly, since there is no time for hatching chicks.

But I'd have left then hens be, cracked the egg and added it to the rice water and it would've given everyone a small amount of protein every day. More so if there were 2 eggs to add to the rice water.

They would surely have known who was a roo after a couple of days of hearing him crow, right?

But he has a very pretty crele pattern on him!

We recorded it and are watching it now. I agree with the above posters about the producers handing over the chickens knowing what their fate will be and not providing the contestants with the knowledge they need to adequately provide for the birds. That being said... A Hen???? They ate one of two freaking hens and left the Rooster???!!!

It would be nice if they picked people for this show based on their ability to actually survive, and not be merely eye candy. Stupid, stupid people! And yes, this season does seem rather "bleh" compared to previous seasons. Natonka, or whatever her name is, is so annoyingly hateful and whiney. Couldn't stand Russell in either season he was on. I think the last season I was really into, was the "Gabon, Africa" season, because I knew Bob Crowley, from before he was on the show. Great guy! He wasn't playing any part... he behaved like he is in real life - a super nice, smart guy.
