After having been left in an out of the way place in the cold by my postman for who knows how long, losing electricity to the incubator, having the incubator jostled several times, having a helpful husband add more water bringing the humidity to 80%, being in a brand new incubator that was still having it's quirks worked out....

9 out of 30 button quail still hatched and seem to be doing fine

They all hatched 2 days late. I almost threw the eggs out last night, but decided to give them a little more time. Woke up to 2 hatched and 4 pipped, and gave it a couple hours. None of the remaining eggs are even rocking, let alone pipped, but I'm going to give them until this evening anyway, just in case.

I'll take pics as soon as the feathers are dried and fluffed. A couple are quite pretty already.

It took four days for a batch of bobwhites to hatch. Got a little over a 50% hatch off of shipped ebay eggs so not too bad. Took much longer than expected however! Kristi

Surprise Surprise, make that 10.

1 out of 3 hatch on a batch I didn't think was going to get any.
