I have a Mottled Cochin chick, approx. 5-6 weeks old that started showing bizarre signs of illness over a week ago. His biggest symptom is flipping over onto his back and being unable to right himself. Just laying there waiting to be rescued. His feet are not curled or anything, but feel like they've gone rubbery. He can't keep them under himself very well or at all. He eats, drinks and poops normally. I have been giving him supplemental vitamin E orally, and he seemed to start standing more on his own and moving around more. I was advised to try cutting his doses back some the past few days and he has been flipping over more again and being unable to stand. This seems to point more strongly toward deficiency than Marek's(hope to God it's true), but I was just wondering if anyone else has experience with a progress timeline for treatment/recovery. I know it is a long process, but just hoping to ease my mind somewhat about it.
