Sussex NJ Poultry Show

I came home with eight, including 4 from WarriorChild. I also met NewChickenMomma (I think that was her name).

I was kinda disappointed that there weren't as many birds available as I was hoping. When we got there, I didn't know the show tent was the show tent. I was picking out the birds that I wanted, but was wondering why there weren't any prices on the cages. LOL

Awesome! Tell her congratulations! I always did very well with those birds in the shows. I wish I could find more quality ones around here, but its just so hard. Keep your eyes open for one of the opposite sex though! You could do very well breeding and selling the offspring! The parents of those birds were national grand champions!

Stevie, I don't think it was me you saw LOL. I was up and walking around most of the time! I had a light green colored shirt on. I wasn't there very long, and spent a little while over at the horse show.

Hello everyone! We met a Call Duck breeder who lived literally minutes from us!

I've been wanting Calls for over a year now. We arranged that we'd be buying a pair in a few weeks after her hen is done setting on her brood. Butterscotch female.

I'm so excited! Even though I would have loved to pick up some birds at the time. We saw a trio of Madarins in a carrier but weren't sure of they were for sale.

Those showing birds put mine at home to shame.

I saw some birds there that I thought I'd never see in my life. I never imagined game banties were that small!

I also would have loved one of those Silkies being sold. The crests were huge of a few! Did anyone catch a glimpse of those black swans for $400? Yikes!

I hope the chicks do well, any problems let me know! It was great to meet you. It was an interesting show. I sold quite a bit but was hoping to sell more so I still have some available. If I had sold out I certainly would have come home with sebastapol geese!!! Those were a steal! I painfully watched them go... One day. That was more birds than I have seen for sale there. Oh yea there were flemish giants there they were so cute! I wish it was a bit warmer I tried to keep my chicks warm by keeping them in tight and switching them out with some in the car. It was funny to see what sold and how things were priced. There were some good deals, some birds sat that I thought would go. I LOVE my sumatras and would have suggested those to anyone. We stayed ALL day and won some stuff at the tricky tray thing. I painted a hat that was donated it was on top of the incubator black with a rooster with shades. I am going to make them to sell. My daughter won some horses and horse magazines! She also went over with my friend to see the horse show for a bit. It was a long day and we finished up by hitting tractor supply for food and DQ on the way home! I was so sick by the end of the day I knew I was getting a cold. It was worth it and anything left over I can sell in August!

I look forward to seeing everyone again!

twc, I had a trio of blrw and 2 black ameraucanas that chickerdoodle bought! I wanted to keep the blrw but I can't have roos so I will start all over again with eggs from buzzardchick.

It was a fun experience for dh and I! It took an hour an 10 min. to get there but it was worth it!

I see by the schedule, there is another poultry show in Oct.!

TWC,
So far they're doing great. Your 4 are my sons favorites. He doesn't really like the Silkies. I bought two that were across from you (the white one and a little grey one).

Someone bought the swans?! Wow! Then again, if I had a pond I probably would have taken them LOL
