svart hona chick pink tip on toes???

I just hatched an svart hona chick and the middle toe on each foot has a pink tip. Does this mean it is not pure or will it darken up as it gets older? I will be very upset if the seller shipped me eggs that were not pure since I paid a LOT of money for these eggs.

I can't speak for your breed but I have Ayam Cemani crosses and some were born with pink ended toes. Mine grew out of it.

It doesn't mean they aren't pure. It's just REALLY hard to get solid black every time you hatch. Mostly you don't want leakage (white/silver) in the feathers. They do tend to grow out of the pink nails. If the entire toe is pink, not so much- but it will lessen with time. If you have good dark skin (mouths also) with no leakage as they get older I wouldn't worry about it. Mine are all straight from either Bryce at Ewe Crazy or Green Fire Farms and sometimes I get clear nails. I've never had any leakage, but a toe here and there is common.
