My Svart hona hen laid her first egg today! She is almost 21 weeks old. I wasn't sure when to expect eggs because there isn't a lot of info out there about this breed, and i really thought my Wyandotte, who is a few weeks younger, might lay before she did. She just looked more "ready"! But today Penny, the Svart Hona, was in the nesting box, and singing loudly while the younger girls looked on! My older two, who are 8 months, weren't interested, as they have been laying for a few months! And then there was a small cream colored egg! So exciting to have another egg layer! I have been raising all my chickens since they were tiny!
