Hi,

I have 3 Svart Honas that refuse to go into a heated coop on their own. During the summer months it was no problem. However, with nightime temps getting below 10 degrees, I am concerned that it is time to sleep inside. They will go inside to nest but that's it. So far they seem fine and I understand this is a cold hardy breed.

Anyone else dealt with this? Should I be concerned?

I have repeatly and have had to lock them in a covered pen to stop this, even with this measure they try to roost on top of the coop. IMO they are super hardy and won't be phased by a this, honestly it the predators I would more fear then them freezing to death.

My svarts do that same thing. I locked mine up and didn't let them out for a solid month. So far they are still going back inside at night

I spent over a week putting them away by hand hoping they would get the message. They are in a fenced enclosure and roost on a roof prop so predators are no issue. Im just worried they will get sick.
