Got a pair of swan geese goslings. And I was wondering do they fly when adults. As I might pinion them.

Are they the true, wild species or one of the swan goose derived breeds? Where did you get them from? Swan geese can fly, their domesticated counterparts cannot.

I know they are swan geese I saw the parents. I got them from a hobby farm. North of me in Oshkosh wi. They are probably 4 weeks. And are very skittish . As the parents were raising them. And do you know if they can be showed in fairs?

If they're swan geese, no they can't be shown. Only the domestic breeds derived from them (African and Chinese) have breed standards.

thank you and do you recommend pinioning them or just trimming feathers.

Yes I have I do it to my hybrid mallard/cayugas as they can fly.

The goslings are too old for a simple pinioning like you'd do for a gosling only a few days old. By 4 weeks there's a lot more blood flow to the wing.

Yeah that's why I haven't yet. Do you take them to the vet
