Hello - I may have a lot of swans hatch this year!! I am in Ontario, Canada but, if I had enough interest in the swans (# and/or price), I would consider importing several to Kentucky area for pick up later in the year or, you could come here and pick them up. This year I have 3 swan sitting on nests!! (Normally, I only have one nest.) I don't know how many will actually hatch but, conceivably there could be A LOT and I'm trying to be proactive in finding wonderful, forever homes. They are a combination whooper/ trumpeter and are absolutely outstanding birds! They look most similar to the whooper. Please make me an offer if you are interested. I also have several adults between 1 and 5 years of age.
 
Yes they are legal. In Canada we must have a permit that is $10 a year. They must be pinioned (clipped wing so they do not fly away) and have a fence and a pond. They are long lived and intelligent. The swans came with the property when we purchased it and some are over 30 years old. They are very vocal, which would be problematic if you have close neighbors that are fussy. They are amazing, amazing birds and I really enjoy them.
