Swap Meet In Ohio Sept 27!! I had a great time!!!

I think you all are talking about the same elderly people. They were almost directly behind Gary?(the guy with the punk rock brahmas). They were setup against the building where the red X is in the pic below. They were from West Manchester... I talked to them for a while as we know some of the same folks out their way. They had some big white chickens that were bleeding everywhere, they also had a couple white silkies and some other chickens.

Did he have them in a wooden cage with dowel rod doors that just lifted up? Also had a couple white silkie roos? If so, I think my son pet that bird you bought.

no the cochins I bought were in a wire cage there were 4 in there, the mottled pair and 2 laced or penciled I cant remember the color. I thought the only birds in the wooden cage were the older people's silkies. At least that was what was in there when I went by

I spotted the mottled pullet and made a beeline the rest was kind of fuzzy

I know how that goes...
For me it's usually a little something like this:
1. excited because I found something I want
2. fuzzy because I am so excited & everything else right then seems to be in the background
3. remorse, because on my way home I recall that morning my wife told me not to bring any more animals home
4. fear, because now I have to face the wife
5. excited again because I just thought of the perfect story to tell my wife and I know my wife will completely believe it & understand
6. fuzzy again after my wife chased me out of the house and told me to go live with my birds.
7. Content because I got my bird and I know the wife will let me back in the house within a few days... she always does...

In light of how fuzzy things were, I think MY elderly couple was to the right of the X and MY elderly couple had their Cochins in wire cages.

It's a good thing there weren't any crimes that took place and the police didn't need to ask us to recall where we got our birds or who we talked to.

I'm not totally convinced that I got mine at the same place as you. Mine were in wire and I paid $8.00 FOR THE PAIR. Does that ring a bell? So I'm sure we're not talking about SQ or even BQ. I don't have a clue what they are, but the roo IS pretty to look at. He may never do anything more than run around the backyard with his little brown collared/black hen. Oh, and they're tiny! I thought they were just really young, but the roo crows like a BIG guy, but he's no bigger then a grapefruit. Is that normal?

yep we got them from the same place! Mine were $10 for a pair. My pullet seems about right in size. she is really young and still has to fill out but still has some nice qualities. It took one or my roos a year to get big. he looked like a baby for at least 7 months so it is probably nothing to worry about. Can't go wrong with those prices though!!
