I have a family of five chicks all 7 weeks old. I am going to swap a roo for a pullet with the breeder. The pullet is the same age as my flock. I was going to introduce them while they were free range in hopes that will make it easier. But I am afraid of what will happen when I put the newbie in the brooder with them. I'm sure she will be afraid in there and the rest of my flock will probably notice that instead of a black roo, there is now a buff pullet.
Can I pull this off?
