Swedish color question

Pippa and Louie are both Black Swedishes. Beautiful ducks btw! And it looks like you have a drake and a hen.

This is my first time owning ducks and I did all sorts of reading and research on them before I decided to get them, but I still always have questions though.

I've had ducks for a little over two years now; the journey of learning never ends.

I believes I have 2 drakes and 2 ladies, I wonder if this will be an issue when they hit puberty down the road.
Though all 4 of them hang out together, you can see louie and pippa stay with each other and Gabby and Zeke stay together.

Chances are you'll be in for trouble once they reach sexuall maturity. The drakes will fight each other to keep their mates and for the right to breed. Also, most likely the drakes will try to mount each others hens to show dominance or at least the alfa drake will. I highly recommend getting at least four more hens to avoid problems farther down the road.

Gabby and Zeke should be reaching sexual maturity sometime soon.

Out of nature, male ducks are very driven to mate, but it's best to look out for the health and happiness of your hens. If you can't get more hens, you'll have to get rid of a drake which I'm sure you don't want to do.

pippa definitely looks like my black swede. same body and feather color. the blue on the edges you'll enjoy them had them for 3 years, they make me laugh and are egg laying machines.

The thought crossed through my mind maybe if I get rid of one of my males but then my heart went into my tummy thinking about it. then I thought of getting 4 more females and almost stressed myself out with that thought. I honestly don't think I can get rid of any of them.

I’ve had Black Swedish, cayugas, and Cayuga mixes. I’d say I’m leaning towards Black Swedish because of the bright colors. My cayuga mixes have a more subdued color. But it’s still just as possible they are a cayuga mix.
