SWEDISH Duck Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pics
I am so excited to find this page! We had a couple drive up to the house and ask us if we could take thier duckling (they saw our Pekins playing in thier pool)
She/He is a wonderful little one and about the same age as our 2 young Pekins. I am pretty sure "Daffy" is a Swedish but we are just starting to learn about them.

A little while ago I picked up 10 ducks and the owner did not know what they were but after seeing the photos in this thread I am starting to think that they may be Swedish. The three lighter colored ones in the front are drakes and the black one in the back right corner is a drake. All the rest are hens. I am thinking on keeping one or two of the drakes.

I may keep one or two of the hens also as I did pick up 8 Silver Swedish. I think that there are at least 3 drakes out of the 8, possibly 4 based on the beak color being lighter. I will keep all the Swedish hens out of the 8. I am thinking 3 drakes and 9 hens is a good number. Would the 3 lighter drakes in the photo above be blues?

I don't care about showing or selling them as I am creating a sustainable living environment on my land where I raise all of my own food. With the silvers, I have 3 adults and 5 juveniles.

I have two black Swedish one female and one male. We bought them 1 day old from cackle hatchery on march 9Th, she just started laying in the hen house on Dec. 6th. They think they are chicken because they were raised with them. They are the clowns of the bunch soooooo funny. Beside being funny they make pretty good alarms when anyone comes in the yard dafany starts her quacking that can be herd in the house. Then she dose this little dance when she wants food or trying to tell you something. They never bit at all only hug you with there neck when you hold them. You can't separate them for too long or they seem to get upset quacking at each other until they are back together again. Dafany also will share the nest with the chickens. Donald our male duck doesn't like her sharing for some reason he will grab the chickens out of the nest until dafany lays her egg for the day. He dosent seem to heart them but grabs them by there comb and pull them out of the nest and then dares them to return until dafany finishes. Some of the chicken just laugh at him and turn there butt towards him and continue to do there laying. Rather funny to watch. We now have 17 of her eggs in the incubator and all seem to be doing fine the first one will hatch next week Monday or Tues. We are so excited we can see the moving but the first one that was layed is getting tight in his egg still we can see movement within the egg.

Dose anyone have advice on reuniting dafany and her baby ducklying once there hatched?

Hi can y'all tell me what breed he is
400

This is Hailey, my daughters Black Swedish Duck. Her eggs are wonderful! I've eaten a half dozen of them so far. She began laying at the end of December.

Just found out on BYC that my daughter's girl, 'Lucky' looks like a Blue Swedish! She should begin laying soon like her friend Hailey the Black Swedish.

I wonder if she could have any other breeds lurking around in there? I bought her locally from a guy who was raising Black Swedish, Blue Swedish, Campbell's Kakis (don't know if I spelled that correctly) and Welsh Harlequins. I had requested a Welsh Harlequin but am in love with our sweet duck!
