Do the swedish ducks retain thier color with age? Our Cayugas have gotten ugly white splattering and I've heard blck runners do the dame thing.

So far mine have...but they are just 6 weeks old. How old are yours? My Cayuga is solid black still. I hope he doesn't change, he's a little doll!!

I dont know about Blue Swedes in particular- But I do know of Black Chocolate and Blue Runners all loosing colour as they age. The blue owned by a friend of mine only had a few white feathers scattered- whereas the Black and Chocolate were almost completely white save for a few patchy feathers.

I have an older (6 yrs?) Blue Swedish duck who is getting whiter and whiter each year. I like it though, its like she's getting gray hair and turning into a respectable old lady duck.

So far, my 6.5 week olds have kept most of their color. The only thing I see different is that their white is shrinking and the blue is getting randam black feathers popping up. Weird. lol I heard that they do that. The black has always been black.
