I have an 11 1/2 week old Swedish Flower chick and I’m still not sure whether I have a male or a female. I’ve got my fingers crossed for a little pullet!!! Hopefully someone knows which I have...

Saddle feathers are still on their way, so can’t quite tell by that, however the Comb is large for the age. I’m saying cockerel now, but the comb is never a completely accurate way of sexing a chicken.

Cockerel seems to be likely right now, but there is a slim chance that you have a Pullet. Let’s wait for developed saddle feathers.

Cockerel (we had 14 this year). Swedes show their comb and wattles VERY early. The pullets keep their dainty little baby combs much longer.

i agree. Different breeds mature at different rates in the comb area, this goes for individuals to but if you say cockerels take on the red comb first, I’m going to keep leaning that way. Like I said there’s a very slim chance it’s a pullet but I’m going by the clues we have now to say it’s a cockerel. A few weeks more and we can tell by saddle feathers for sure.

Well I’m still hoping!!! Either way Swedish Flowers are beautiful!!!
